Great piece. It seems like emerging K-12 vertical AI solutions have gone more so after content creation or general collaboration (MagicSchool, School AI). Do you think dynamic learning AI solutions will be wedges into larger SoR type platforms, apps on platforms like the above, or sizable standalone companies in a distinct category of their own?

I think K-12 is really hard to sell into. More dispersed, smaller budgets.

University/Higher Ed seems like the better place to sell into, even if sales cycles are longer. But real budgets and sophisticated teams.

Dynamic learning probably is a standalone category. It solves a pain point, but unclear how it would become a wedge into a broader system of record (that seems to live with a more HR-like system for student and administrative management). But the cooperation will be paramount.

I worry apps on platforms become far too commoditized and easy to switch in the future, particularly if content is the only differentiator.

What do you think?

Agree. On the other side of the coin if you can find a unique distribution angle it could be an advantage. On the other Q, I think as AI drops the cost of integration, the incentives to stick to captive marketplaces (e.g. you use Salesforce so only use app store add-ons) are diluted. With probable exceptions for non-SW moats like hardware (iPhone) or regulatory (Jack Henry).
